Refund and Returns Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

We sell files, not physical goods, so there is nothing to post back. What follows explains your statutory right to withdraw, when that right ends, and what we do when something is wrong with a purchase.

The short version

Ask us. If you have not downloaded the files, you get your money back, no reason needed. If you have downloaded them and the purchase was a mistake, ask anyway. We will almost always refund you. If there is something actually wrong with the files, you are entitled to a fix or a refund for three years, whatever else this page says.

Your right to withdraw

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you normally have 14 days from purchase to withdraw from the sale and get your money back, without giving a reason.

Digital downloads are an exception to that, but only where you have asked for the files immediately and knowingly given the right up. So at checkout we ask you to confirm two things before payment: that you want access to the files straight away, and that you understand this ends your right to withdraw once the download starts. You will see both stated on the checkout page, and again in your order confirmation.

If you did not confirm that, or you confirmed it but have not downloaded anything yet, your 14 days still stand. Email us and we will refund you in full.

That is the legal position. In practice we are more relaxed than it sounds: if you have downloaded a design and simply regret buying it, tell us within 14 days and we will normally refund you anyway. We would rather lose the sale than have you feel stuck with something you did not want. We keep the strict version in writing for the rare case where someone takes advantage, not for ordinary customers.

If something is wrong with the files

Separately from the above, and for longer, you are entitled to files that match how we described them. If a package is missing parts, will not open, does not match the specifications on the product page, or has a modelling fault that makes it unusable, that is on us. Tell us and we will fix the files, replace them, or refund you. This applies whether or not you have downloaded anything, and it is not affected by the withdrawal rules above.

Under Swedish consumer law you have three years from delivery to raise a fault like this, and if you live elsewhere in the EU or EEA you keep your own country's period where it is longer. Nothing you agree to at checkout signs this away, and nothing on this page limits it.

We will always try to sort out a problem first, but if we cannot put it right in a reasonable time you can ask for a refund or a reduction in price instead.

What is not covered

A print that did not come out well is not by itself a fault in the design. Printers, filament, slicer settings, and ambient conditions vary a great deal, and we cannot refund on that basis. What we can do is help: send us photos and your slicer settings and we will work through it with you. Our print profiles are the best starting point.

Similarly, buying a design and then deciding your printer is too small for it is not a fault. Every product page lists the minimum bed size before you buy.

How to ask

Email contact@buildingrc.com from the address you ordered with, and tell us the order number and what happened. You do not need a form or a particular wording. We aim to reply within a few days, and we will resolve complaints within 14 days at the latest.

Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with, through Stripe. Depending on your bank it can take a few working days to appear.

If we cannot agree

If you are not happy with how we have handled a complaint, you can take it to a consumer dispute body in your country. Nothing in this policy limits the rights you have under consumer law where you live.
